Showcasing Your Web Advertisements With Peel Away Ads

Looking for a way to showcase and highlight a particular product or offer on your web pages without being too "in your face" and irritating your visitors?

In the past, the options available for showcasing a particular offer on your web pages would be to use either a banner ad or a popup or fly-in ad. These less than desirable alternatives had certain drawbacks. For the former, "banner blindness" would mean that only a small percentage of your visitors would actually pay attention to your ad. For the latter, you ran the risk of annoying your visitors by interrupting what they are trying to read on your page with a popup of fly-in ad swishing into their field of vision. The even greater risk is that this might cause them to leave your website and not return.

Now there is a for more subtle, non-obtrusive, yet effective way to draw your visitors' attention to your offer. The new technology are called Peel Away Web Pages. They allow you to add a small page curl to any of the four corners of your webpage, although typically this is added to the top right hand corner of a webpage. This page curl is animated, and appears to curl a little bit up and down in order to draw your visitors attention to that area of your page. You can also add scrolling text behind the peeled area.

Many visitors are drawn to it, and will hover their mouse of the small peeled area. Once they do, the webpage peels back revealing a much larger peel away ad graphic which showcases whatever offer you want your visitors to see. Once they click the offer, they are taken to the target url either in a new browser window or in the same browser session.

Not all Peel Ads are the same though. Some have more features than others. The most fully featured one this writer has come across allows you the choice of opening your offer in the same browser window or a new window, allows you to add animated scrolling text behind both the small and large peel images, and allows you to choose between two different sizes of peel ad graphics for your main advert. The script in question is version 2 of Peel Away Ads available at PeelAwayAds.net.
